HISTORY

Originally built in the 1940’s the Pipe Shop is located in the Shipyards District, in the heart of Lower Lonsdale, which commemorates the thousands of men and women who worked in the area from 1906-1992. Over 450 ships were launched from this site during the many years of operation including merchant marine vessels and victory ships.

The Pipe Shop has since undergone a phase of exciting renovations to ensure that our heritage aesthetic is matched with modern conveniences, making the venue truly one-of-a-kind. Recent upgrades include: full heating and cooling systems, acoustic treatments to the ceilings, and upgraded lighting.
